Strasbourg Research

I have compiled a large amount of research on a pinterest board through which I have been able to gain a general understanding of some of Strasbourg’s main features as well as research artists and designers. I am particularly interested in Strasbourg’s architecture, especially the ornate Gothic architecture of the cathedral and the quaint half timbered houses in Petite France. I also find the contrast between the old, elegant buildings and the modern buildings of the European Parliament and Court of Human Rights interesting as I believe this reveals the fact that Strasbourg has both a rich history and an important role in modern society. I am fascinated by  the idea of Strasbourg as a symbol of international cooperation; both in the past when Strasbourg became a symbol of reconciliation between France and Germany after its return to France in 1944, and due to the international institutions which meet there today.
