I have finally reached two final costume designs, both of which I am very pleased with. The two designs have branched off in slightly different directions and both produce a different feeling. The first is a very grand garment, very clean cut with strong structures including large shoulder details, a dramatic collar, a bold breastplate and knee high boots. These boots also solved my top heavy issues as their structure mirrors the shoulders drawing the garment together. While the fist garment is very regal the second is far more practical. It is much simpler and very ragged with leather boots and breastplate, a large hooded cloak which envelops the character and hides the face and arms and legs bound in cloth. Here you see the two sides to Boudicca’s character; fearsome, regal queen and sneaky rebel who’s not afraid to get her hands dirty.
