I visited Leeds to see both their Fine Art and Fashion courses. I found the art course fascinating as they specialise into a certain style of art halfway through first year but despite this their work seems to remain very broad and they appear to still be able to explore any route they are interested in. It seems like doing this course would mean you were taught more specific skills for the specialism you chose which I would like. However I might find it difficult to be forced to just focus on one specialism. I also quite liked the fashion course, especially the focus on more ethical fashion instead of cheap, disposable clothing. However they don’t have any knitting or weaving equipment which I think I would want to be able to work with. I’m also not sure I like how small the university is.
